We are pleased to announce that our substance analysis report for the summer period, from May to August, is now available. This season has been marked by a significant increase in the attendance of our service, with a total of 723 people visiting our facilities and 571 samples analyzed.

One of the most striking findings of this report is the growing discovery of our service by new users. In fact, no less than 85% of the people who walked through our doors this summer did so for the very first time, a sign that our mission of awareness and harm reduction is bearing fruit.

Among the substances most frequently submitted for analysis, MDMA stands out at the top of the list with 234 samples tested. It is closely followed by cocaine, with 115 samples, and ketamine, with 67 samples. These numbers reflect the diversity of substances in circulation and underscore the need for our service to assist users in making informed decisions about their consumption.

We would like to warmly thank all our visitors, as well as our dedicated team, for contributing to making this summer a successful period of awareness and risk reduction. We will continue to work tirelessly to provide a safe and reliable service to our community, in the hope that these efforts will help prevent the harms associated with substance use.

We use three types of analysis technologies: colorimetric reagents, fentanyl and benzodiazepine detection strips, and infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR).

Due to the limitations of our hours and locations of operation, as well as our technologies, the results of our report likely do not represent the true composition of drugs in the unregulated Montreal market.

We are interested in receiving your questions, comments, and suggestions to help improve the presentation of our analysis results. To do so, please contact the service coordination at the following email address: analysis@grip-prevention.ca

We regularly add new service dates on our website, so please check here or call or text us at (438-887-8338) to find out when we are offering substance analysis dates.
