Prevention and harm reduction

Our team develops, shares and distributes prevention tools and supplies in order to facilitate the development of knowledge about substances and the adoption of safer practices regarding substance use, sexuality and sexual violence in a festive context.

Here are some examples of what we do:

  • Share information about the law of effect, the effects and risks of drug use and safer practices;
  • Provide access to the most neutral, evidence-based information possible on a variety of psychoactive substances;
  • Distribute clean or sterile drug use supplies and sexual health supplies (internal/external condoms, information, lubricants);
  • Distribute naloxone and fentanyl test strips;
  • Encourage people to take care of themselves before, during and after substance use and help them determine how to do it in their own way.

This service is provided in the form of a kiosk.

Outreach intervention

Our team is deployed on the field (raves, festivals) in order to promote our services and distribute material, but especially to identify risky situations (e.g.: overdoses, violence, badtrip, heat stroke). This allows our teams to respond directly in the crowd in order to promote health and safety.

This service is offered in the form of duos walking around the event.

Psychosocial support and crisis intervention

Our psychosocial intervention team supports people experiencing a difficult situation (e.g. badtrip, anxiety, mild dehydration) or a crisis situation (e.g. suicidal, overdose, psychosis, acute stress, sexual violence) by preventing the escalation of the crisis and working to de-escalate it, in collaboration with the on-site health and safety teams, if any.

The intervention promotes a return to a state of balance, empowerment and autonomy of individuals by referring to appropriate resources as needed.

This service is offered in the form of a safer space where people can sit, lie down, take their mind off things or relax.

Sexual Violence and Harassment Prevention

This service is part of our overall festive environment services. Its objective is to promote the well-being and inclusion of everyone by implementing necessary conditions for a safer and a more equal party. This service is available for any event related to celebration or any other gathering of people with the common goal of meeting or engaging in a communal activity (e.g., conference).

Drug checking

We are now able to legally offer an in-vehicle drug checking service for the Greater Montreal area.

This service allows for the detection of certain substances or cutting agents within the drug. The goal is to provide participants with as much information as possible about the substances they are using in order to help reduce the potential harms associated with their use.
