Prevention
of sexual violence
and harassment

The Spotlight Project is our service for the prevention of sexual violence in the party environment.
Guided by GRIP’s core values, it was developed to provide a safer, more inclusive and respectful environment in festive settings.
For all Spotlight service requests, we require a minimum of 3 weeks’ notice prior to your event.

Our objectives ?
Promote the safety and well-being of party-goers and be an agent of change in the culture of festive environments
Prevent sexual and intimate violence
Support people who experience or witness sexual violence by focusing on their needs and choices
This service takes three forms : PREVENTION, INTERVENTION ET SAFE SPACE
Prevention
GRIP’s actions aim to promote a culture of consent in the festive environment by opening up discussions on sexual inequality and violence with participants and event promoters. We disseminate adapted prevention tools, distribute sexual health material and offer training to event organizers.

Intervention
Our team of outreach workers is trained to identify situations of sexual violence using the ACTIVE WITNESS approach. They defuse and intervene as needed in potential situations of sexual violence or discrimination.
If someone feels disrespected or unsafe at an event, they can approach a GRIP support worker for help and support.
Safer Space
This space is intended as a refuge for any person who has experienced or witnessed sexual violence and discrimination at the event or previously.
Its aim is to restore a sense of safety to event participants, who will be accompanied through the experience by our support staff, who will help them find solutions to return to a state of equilibrium.
